Seoul landmarks were lit up in purple to celebrate the 10th anniversary of BTS – [현장PLAY]2023.06.13

Skyscrapers, bridges and other landmarks in South Korea’s capital were lit up in purple as the country begins celebrating the 10th anniversary of K-pop band BTS.

From Monday evening, numerous Seoul structures, including City Hall, the 123-story Lotte World Tower, several Han River bridges, and the futuristic DDP will be bathed in purple, a color associated with BTS, according to city officials and the group’s management company, Hybe.

Seoul officials hope that the celebrations, which will continue for around two weeks, will boost tourism. The city has designated more than a dozen sites associated with BTS, including places where the group held major performances or shot some of their famous videos.

6월 방탄소년단(BTS)의 데뷔 10주년을 기념하여 시민과 관광객들이 즐길 수 있는 콘텐츠 등 다채로운 온·오프라인 행사로 구성된 ‘방탄소년단 데뷔 10주년 FESTA(2023 BTS FESTA)가 서울에서 열리고 있습니다.

서울시는 이번 행사를 맞아 6.12.(월)부터 6.25.(일)까지 14일간 세빛섬, 남산서울타워, 시청, DDP, 월드컵대교 등 서울의 주요 랜드마크 8개소를 방탄소년단과 ‘아미(ARMY)’ 상징색인 보랏빛으로 물들이고, 세종 문화회관, 세빛섬(예빛섬), 남산서울타워에 미디어파사드도 상영하여 서울을 방문하는 외래 관광객 대상으로 웰컴 분위기를 조성합니다.

메인 이벤트는 6.17.(토) 여의도한강공원에서 열립니다.
